Manufacturing Engineer – Automation Specialist

About the role

Join a world‑class oilfield services leader as a Manufacturing Professional responsible for ensuring the reliability and performance of advanced automation equipment. You will work closely with maintenance and production teams to minimise downtime and drive continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect, test, calibrate, repair and replace automation components such as PLCs, sensors, actuators, relays, contactors, solenoid valves and pneumatic/hydraulic devices.
• Maintain and operate coating machines, robots, gas and liquid control systems, vacuum furnaces and CNC equipment (5‑axis mills, laser welders, CNC lathes).
• Diagnose system malfunctions using specialised tools, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Program, modify and update PLCs and automated control systems to ensure efficient operation.
• Perform preventive maintenance, including equipment inspections, cleaning of electrical connections, battery replacement and control parameter adjustments.
• Validate system performance through functional testing and commissioning while adhering to safety, quality and operational standards.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve equipment reliability and optimise process performance.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Automation Engineering, Industrial IT or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in automation and industrial maintenance.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities with excellent communication skills.

• Drives and servo‑drive adjustment, motion control

• Reading and interpreting technical diagrams
