Programme Intern

About the role

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) is offering a full‑time internship within its Programme Unit in Algiers. The intern will support the planning, implementation and monitoring of projects that assist refugees and asylum‑seekers in Algeria.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Associate Programme Officer in coordinating partnership arrangements.
• Support project planning, data collection and reporting in line with UNHCR’s Results‑Based Management framework.
• Contribute to strategic planning, resource allocation and monitoring‑evaluation activities.
• Help prepare documentation for refugee status determination and durable solutions.
• Facilitate communication with national and international partners.

Required profile

• Recent graduate or current student (Licence/Bachelor, Master 1 or 2) with interest in humanitarian work.
• Strong analytical and organizational abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Motivation to work in a multicultural environment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
