Senior Commissioning Engineer – Electrical

About the role

Petrofac is seeking a Senior Engineer to lead the electrical commissioning team on complex energy infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for overseeing pre‑commissioning, commissioning and start‑up activities, ensuring technical quality, safety and schedule adherence.

Key responsibilities

• Lead a multidisciplinary team of commissioning engineers and operators through pre‑commissioning, commissioning and start‑up phases.
• Review project specifications, drawings and contractual documents to define scope and identify risks.
• Coordinate field activities, monitor man‑hours, and ensure work is performed within budget and schedule.
• Conduct Job Safety Analyses (JSA) and toolbox talks, enforce HSE procedures, and guarantee safe execution of all tasks.
• Inspect construction work before commissioning, manage subcontractor performance, and resolve technical issues on site.
• Provide technical input for bidding proposals and maintain regular communication with clients, discipline engineers and subcontractors.
• Report cost variances, monitor risk assessments and attend daily progress meetings.

Required profile

• Senior‑level engineering professional with extensive experience in electrical commissioning for energy projects.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage teams and subcontractors on site.
• Strong understanding of project documentation, risk management and cost control.
• Hands‑on presence in the field to ensure quality, safety and timely delivery.
