Senior Telecom Commissioning Technician

About the role

Petrofac is seeking a Senior Telecom Commissioning Technician to lead the installation, testing and commissioning of a wide range of telecommunications systems for our energy‑sector clients. You will work on‑site, ensuring equipment is installed to specification, calibrated, and fully operational while maintaining strict HSSE standards.

Key responsibilities

• Install, connect, tune and commission telecom equipment across multiple client sites.
• Perform pre‑commissioning, commissioning and functional testing of systems such as PAGA, CCTV, IP & analog telephony, UHF TETRA radios, structured cabling, LAN/WAN, access control, GSM signal enhancement and fiber optic networks.
• Lead a team of technicians, coordinating with contractors to meet performance standards.
• Maintain accurate records of tools and test equipment, ensuring regular calibration and availability.
• Develop and follow detailed commissioning procedures and risk assessments.
• Ensure compliance with HSSE policies and achieve zero‑incident targets.
• Provide on‑site support and troubleshooting throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a senior technician in telecom commissioning and field installation.
• Ability to lead and supervise a technical team safely.
• Strong understanding of HSSE requirements and risk assessment processes.
• Excellent documentation skills for tools, equipment and commissioning records.
