Anti-Money Laundering Compliance Officer

About the role

Citi is looking for an Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Compliance Officer, an intermediate-level role within the AML Risk Management job family. The officer recommends and establishes internal procedures to prevent money laundering and supports all matters concerning financial crimes in coordination with the broader AML team. The role is the first point of contact with regulators on financial crime matters and handles relevant regulatory reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, vet and address potential risks or escalated issues with functional partners and key stakeholders
• Use regulatory changes, new regulations and internal policy changes to spot new key risk areas
• Analyze comparative data, prepare and present AML risk assessment reports and monitor AML issues and escalations
• Develop approaches and action plans for compliance and control issues, weighing alternatives and balancing conflicting situations
• Create and develop AML Compliance Risk Management (ACRM) standards and policies
• Advise management on a plan of action based on risk analysis
• Assist in coaching and training new recruits
• Assess risk in business decisions, uphold the firm's reputation and escalate, manage and report control issues transparently

Required profile

• 5-8 years of experience
• Bachelor's degree or university degree, or equivalent experience
• Anti-Money Laundering (AML) certification
• Knowledge of AML requirements applicable to banks
• Clear and concise written and verbal communication
