Chef de Partie - Hotel Kitchen

About the role

JW Marriott is hiring a full-time, non-management Chef de Partie in its hotel in Bab Ezzouar, Algiers. The role covers preparing and cooking food according to recipes and quality standards, supporting the kitchen team and communicating with guests and service staff.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare special meals or substitute items and prepare cold foods
• Regulate oven, broiler, grill and roaster temperatures
• Pull food from freezer storage to thaw in the refrigerator
• Ensure proper portion, arrangement and garnish, and monitor the quality and quantity of food prepared
• Maintain food logs and follow recipes, quality standards, presentation standards and the food preparation checklist
• Inform the Chef of excess food for daily specials and tell Food & Beverage staff about menu specials and out-of-stock items
• Anticipate guest service needs and speak clearly and professionally
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluation, counseling, discipline and motivation, and act as a role model
• Follow company, safety and security policies, report accidents and unsafe conditions, and complete safety training
• Maintain a clean, professional appearance, protect confidential information and company assets, and build positive working relationships

Required profile

• Preferred: technical, trade or vocational school degree
• Preferred: at least 3 years of related work experience
• No supervisory experience required
• Physical ability to stand, sit or walk for long periods, bend, twist and lift objects up to 25 pounds
