Chef de Rang – Guest Service Expert

About the role

The Chef de Rang is a Guest Service Expert who creates memorable dining experiences for guests at JW Marriott in Algiers. You will be responsible for setting tables, coordinating with the kitchen, serving guests, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. This role requires a proactive attitude and a commitment to the high standards of hospitality.

Key responsibilities

• Set and arrange tables, ensuring proper placement of linens, cutlery, and glassware.
• Communicate orders and special requests accurately with the kitchen staff.
• Interact with guests, take orders, serve food and beverages, and address any concerns promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness of the dining area, work stations, and service supplies.
• Follow safety procedures, company policies, and quality standards at all times.
• Uphold uniform, personal appearance, and professional communication standards.
• Perform physical tasks such as standing for long periods, lifting up to 25 lb unassisted (50 lb with assistance), and reaching overhead or below the knees.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Less than 1 year of related work experience in food and beverage service.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No specific license or certification needed.
