Commis – Kitchen Assistant (Full‑time)

About the role

Marriott International is seeking a motivated Commis to join its kitchen team in Algiers. You will support food preparation and cooking operations, ensuring high standards of quality, safety, and presentation in a fast‑paced hospitality environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients by portioning, chopping, washing, peeling, weighing, and measuring.
• Cook and assemble dishes according to recipes, quality and presentation standards.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers.
• Monitor food temperature, test doneness, and maintain food safety compliance.
• Set up and break down work stations, serve food in proper portions, and maintain a clean, sanitized kitchen area.
• Check and ensure correct appliance and food temperatures.
• Follow company safety policies, report incidents, and complete required safety training.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least 1 year of related kitchen or food‑service experience.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 25 lb, and perform repetitive motions for an entire shift.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Professional appearance and ability to maintain confidentiality.
