Contract Manager

About the role

The Contracts Manager reports to the Contracts and Commercial Director and is responsible for overseeing tender reviews, contract preparation, and ongoing contract administration for company projects. The role ensures that all agreements are managed in line with company procedures and that contractual obligations are met to the satisfaction of clients.

Key responsibilities

• Administer subcontractor processes using company procedures and ensure contracts are commercially sound.
• Participate in contractual meetings with clients and consultants to protect project cost and schedule.
• Provide guidance on extensions of time, claim preparation, and successful resolution of contractual claims.
• Develop and maintain contract standards, including budget presentation, payment terms, and contractual language.
• Identify and mitigate contractual risk, reducing the incidence of claims against the company.
• Implement risk‑management processes, maintain the risk register, and ensure appropriate controls.
• Close out subcontractor final accounts within two months of scope completion.

Required profile

• Proven experience in contract management, preferably within construction or engineering projects.
• Strong understanding of contract terms, conditions, and commercial risk.
• Ability to work closely with commercial, legal, and project teams.
• Excellent analytical and negotiation skills.
