Demi Chef de Partie - Ticket Restaurant

About the role

A Demi Chef de Partie is needed for the ticket restaurant at a Marriott hotel in the Trust Complex Buildings area of Bab Ezzouar, Algiers. The position is full time and non-management, focused on preparing meals, cooking to recipe standards and supporting the kitchen and food and beverage service.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare special meals or substitute items and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards and a food preparation checklist.
• Regulate the temperature of ovens, broilers, grills and roasters, and pull food from freezer storage to thaw in the refrigerator.
• Ensure proper portion, arrangement and garnish, and monitor the quality and quantity of food prepared.
• Maintain food logs and prepare cold foods.
• Inform the Chef of excess food items for daily specials and tell food and beverage staff about menu specials and out-of-stock items.
• Anticipate guest service needs and communicate assistance needed during busy periods.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining and motivating staff, and act as a role model.
• Follow company and safety policies, report accidents and unsafe conditions, complete safety training and certifications, and keep a clean, professional appearance.

Required profile

• Preferred: a technical, trade or vocational school degree.
• Preferred: at least 3 years of related work experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• Physical ability to stand, sit or walk for long periods, bend, twist and lift objects up to 25 pounds without assistance.
