Food Security Project Officer

About the role

Oxfam is seeking a Food Security Project Officer to lead its SBCC project in the Sahrawi refugee camps of Tindouf, Algeria. Reporting to the Food Security Program Manager, the officer will oversee the planning, execution, and monitoring of food security activities that improve access to fresh produce and support small‑scale agro‑ecological farming.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with the Food Security Manager to plan and implement project activities.
• Monitor progress against targets and ensure timely delivery of food distributions, including fresh products and gluten‑free flour.
• Support the establishment of farmer associations and promote local agricultural production.
• Pilot and supervise water‑efficient irrigation techniques suitable for desert environments.
• Maintain regular interaction with partners such as WFP, local authorities, INGOs, and Oxfam technical advisors.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (or equivalent Licence Bac + 4) in a relevant field.
• 3–5 years of experience in food security, humanitarian programming, or agricultural development.
• Demonstrated commitment to Oxfam’s code of conduct and values.
