Hotel Manager

About the role

The Hotel Manager leads the overall operation of the hotel, aiming to maximise performance, profitability and return on investment. The role focuses on building a positive, productive workplace, delivering exceptional guest service and keeping the hotel compliant with quality and operational standards, while raising standards in line with new industry innovations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and monitor financial and operational plans aligned with hotel and operating division objectives, create annual budgets and business plans, and recommend capital improvements.
• Deliver superior guest service, resolve complaints and requests promptly, and maintain product quality and service standards.
• Set up and run preventative maintenance programmes to protect the hotel's physical assets.
• Build marketing strategies, sales plans and yield management approaches to raise revenue, RevPAR and occupancy; optimise banquet and outlet space and other revenue streams such as IT and rental.
• Work with the Regional Corporate Office, liaise with government authorities on legislation, and build relationships with key community contacts and handle media inquiries.
• Drive colleague development, oversee security, and run a proactive human resource function covering motivation, training, pay and benefits and labour law compliance.
• Mentor colleagues through formal and informal meetings and performance feedback, and follow environmental, health and safety procedures.
