Information Technology Coordinator

About the role

The American International School of Algiers is looking for a full-time, on-site Information Technology Coordinator in Algiers. The role oversees the school's IT infrastructure, including hardware and software, user accounts and network access, while providing day-to-day technical support to staff and students. It also involves monitoring network performance and security, coordinating with vendors and helping plan technology initiatives that support teaching, learning and administration.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the inventory of devices (laptops, tablets, desktops, printers, projectors, AV equipment), including setup, maintenance, repairs, returns and reassignments, and prepare and image devices for new staff and students.
• Maintain the network, Wi-Fi, servers and internet connectivity, and coordinate with service providers.
• Manage software subscriptions and licenses, including renewals, budgeting input and vendor contact, and evaluate new tools.
• Administer user accounts and access, and document systems, credentials, licenses and procedures.
• Provide technical support and troubleshoot hardware, software and connectivity issues, and train staff on using school technology.
• Implement data protection, backups, antivirus and content filtering, and support safe technology use in line with school policy.
• Advise leadership on technology planning, budgeting and purchasing, and work with the ICT teacher and classroom teachers on technology integration.

Required profile

• Experience providing technical support and troubleshooting for end users in an office or school environment.
• Relevant post-secondary education or certification in IT, computer science or a related field.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and documentation.
• Effective communication in English; additional languages are an asset.
• Ability to collaborate with educators and administrators.

Required skills

• Knowledge of operating systems, educational software and basic cybersecurity practices.
• Network administration: wired and wireless networks, user access and system updates.
• Analytical skills to diagnose and resolve technology issues.
