Security Manager – Algeria

About the role

The Security Manager for BAT Algeria is responsible for identifying, assessing and mitigating threats to personnel, assets, information, operations, supply chain and business activities. The role embeds security risk management, business continuity and crisis management processes across the country to protect people, support resilience and safeguard shareholder interests.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver the BAT Algeria security plan aligned with MENA strategy and Group requirements.
• Lead implementation of Security Risk Management, ensuring risks are identified, assessed, mitigated and escalated as needed.
• Maintain effective security coverage for offices, factories, warehouses, trade offices, fleet, field teams, events and business travel.
• Ensure physical security measures, access control, CCTV, intruder detection, fire detection, key and visitor management systems remain effective and tested.
• Develop, test and improve local security procedures, site security plans, emergency response and incident management processes.
• Provide security intelligence, threat assessments and travel advice for Algeria and relevant regions.
• Support business continuity planning, testing and activation in line with Group expectations.
• Manage security incidents and investigations in coordination with Legal, HR, Compliance, Operations and other functions.
• Produce accurate security reporting, including incidents, risk updates, BCP testing and KPI tracking.
• Manage security service providers, ensuring contractual compliance and service quality.

Required profile

• Proven experience in security risk management, business continuity and crisis management.
• Strong knowledge of local security regulations and BAT security procedures.
• Ability to work collaboratively with Legal, HR, Compliance, Operations and other stakeholders.
• Analytical mindset with the capacity to provide timely, intelligence‑led security advice.
