About the role
The United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON) is seeking a Sergeant for a 364‑day fixed‑term appointment at the Grade‑5 level. The position is based in the Department of Security and Safety Service (DSS) and supports the United Nations Security and Safety Service (SSS) in providing security to delegates, staff, visiting dignitaries and other visitors.
Key responsibilities
- Provide security protection for delegates, UN staff, dignitaries and visitors at UNON facilities.
- Support the United Nations Security and Safety Service in maintaining a safe environment.
- Carry out assigned security functions under the direct supervision of the Security Lieutenant.
Required profile
- Must meet United Nations specific qualification and work‑experience criteria for a G5 security position.
- Ability to work in an international, multicultural environment.
- Willingness to serve on a fixed‑term basis for 364 days.
