Summer Foodservice Team Member – 2026 (Internal)

About the role

The Summer Foodservice Team Member supports the Summer Foodservice Programs at Manassas Park Elementary School, Manassas Park High School, and the Manassas Park Community Center. This semi‑skilled, temporary role involves preparing, serving, and distributing meals to students and community members while ensuring compliance with USDA guidelines and food safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with meal service and distribution at assigned locations.
• Prepare, cook, and serve meals according to approved menus and program requirements.
• Receive, store, and stock food supplies while maintaining sanitation standards.
• Operate dishwashers, mixers, choppers, slicers, steamers, ovens, and other kitchen equipment.
• Clean work surfaces, food preparation areas, serving areas, and dining spaces.
• Perform custodial duties such as sweeping and mopping.
• Maintain accurate meal count and production records.
• Provide courteous service to students, families, staff, and community members.

Required profile

• Education equivalent to completion of the eighth grade.
• General knowledge of food preparation, nutrition, and USDA regulations for school and summer meals.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment and stand for extended periods.
• Patience and understanding when interacting with children and families.

Required skills

• Operation of dishwashers and other food preparation equipment.
• Use of mixers, choppers, slicers, steamers, and ovens.
• Food safety and sanitation practices.

What we offer

• Hourly wage of $25.00.
• Temporary assignment from June to July 2026.
• Flexible schedule of 2‑4 hours per day based on location.
