Technical Manager – Power Systems

About the role

The Technical Manager – Power Systems leads a multidisciplinary engineering team responsible for the design, implementation and testing of high‑voltage and medium‑voltage substation projects. The role ensures project delivery meets quality, safety and timeline expectations while supporting continuous improvement of processes and documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor execution of projects within the assigned technology group and apply corrective actions as needed.
• Report engineering team workload and progress to the Engineering Manager on a monthly basis.
• Supervise creation and enhancement of software/hardware design documents.
• Ensure timely, high‑quality delivery of services to clients.
• Assign teams for implementation, installation and follow‑up activities.
• Oversee testing phases including internal tests, factory acceptance testing (FAT) and site acceptance testing (SAT).
• Prepare and submit monthly activity reports and review weekly progress reports from team leaders.
• Maintain and improve quality and coding standards across all technical activities.
• Coordinate staffing needs, hiring plans and training initiatives.
• Collaborate with presales, QC and HSE teams to ensure technical, quality and safety compliance.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Engineering with a specialization in Electrical Engineering.
• 13‑15 years of experience in power systems engineering, including at least 5 years in a managerial role.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French.
• Strong leadership, team‑development and performance‑evaluation capabilities.

Required skills

• HV/MV substation design.
• Protection relaying.
• Power system analysis using ETAP, DIgSILENT and PSS/E.
