AI Product Chief Architect – Remote

About the role

Sparkrock is seeking a senior AI‑first architect to lead the technical evolution of its K‑12 Student Information System. You will own the end‑to‑end architecture, bridging decades‑old VB6/COM/T‑SQL components with modern C# services, while directing AI coding agents to implement your designs.

Key responsibilities

• Define and own the technical architecture across legacy and modern layers.
• Direct AI coding agents (e.g., Claude Code) to build and refactor components according to architectural guardrails.
• Establish domain boundaries, coding conventions, and integration patterns for AI‑generated code.
• Review AI‑produced code for correctness and behavioral equivalence with legacy logic.
• Participate in requirement reviews and provide architectural sign‑off.
• Continuously improve agent workflows, prompts, and guardrails.
• Lead deep‑dive technical analyses, root‑cause investigations, and resolve production incidents.

Required profile

• 15+ years of software development experience.
• 5+ years in an architect or technical‑lead role.
• Extensive experience with C#/.NET (including .NET Core/8 and ASP.NET Web API).
• Strong hands‑on T‑SQL skills and experience debugging complex stored procedures.
• Proven ability to navigate large legacy codebases (VB6, VB.NET, COM, Classic ASP).
• Already practicing AI‑first development, using coding agents as primary tools.
