Algeria Marine Surveyor

About the role

RINA is seeking a Marine Surveyor to join its Mediterranean and Africa Marine Division office in Algeria. The role focuses on ensuring vessels comply with international standards, classification society rules, and statutory requirements while providing technical guidance to clients.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure strict adherence to classification society rules, international regulations, and statutory requirements during surveys and inspections.
• Provide expert technical advice on classification, design, construction, and maintenance of ships.
• Troubleshoot technical issues that arise during surveys or client interactions.
• Implement quality‑assurance measures to maintain accuracy and reliability of inspection reports.
• Educate clients on classification processes, rules, and the importance of compliance.
• Prepare clear, timely inspection reports using standardized templates and digital documentation tools.
• Collaborate with internal and external colleagues to share knowledge and best practices.
• Engage in continuous professional development and pursue relevant certifications.
• Uphold the highest ethical standards in all professional activities.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Naval Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years as a Junior Surveyor or 5 years in engineering/survey roles within the marine industry.
• Proficiency in English appropriate to classification and statutory certification work.
• Ability to develop working knowledge of RINA Rules, Guides, statutory regulations, and the RINA Employee Safety Policy.
• Capability to read and interpret engineering plans and basic shipbuilding practices.
