Experienced Technical Field Advisor – Mechanical

About the role

The Experienced Technical Field Advisor – Mechanical will support GE Vernova’s Gas Power field services by managing on‑site activities at customer power generation facilities. You will ensure installations, maintenance, and repairs are performed safely, efficiently, and in line with contractual requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and monitor site resources such as labor, tools, and technical assistants.
• Perform on‑site installation of systems and equipment, followed by preventive maintenance, repair, and calibration.
• Respond promptly to emergency repair requests and troubleshoot problematic equipment.
• Provide technical instruction and assistance to customer representatives on installation, operation, calibration, repair, and maintenance.
• Prepare and submit technical reports, job status updates, material orders, quotations, timesheets, and expense sheets in a timely manner.
• Sign off on all changes and ensure work complies with GE safety standards.
• Coach, mentor, and train team members to uphold field engineering best practices.

Required profile

• Completed all competencies required for the Technical Field Advisor role.
• Strong safety mindset with ability to work under GE safety standards.
• Proven experience in managing site activities and coordinating resources.
• Ability to produce accurate technical documentation and reports.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites and work onsite.

Required skills

• Installation, preventive maintenance, repair, and calibration of power generation equipment.
• Troubleshooting and routine maintenance of a wide range of mechanical equipment vintages.
• Technical instruction and customer support for equipment operation.
• Preparation of technical reports, job status updates, and documentation.
• Mentoring and training of field team members.
