Lead Field Project Engineer

About the role

As a Lead Field Project Engineer you will act as the technical focal point for customers, suppliers and site teams across multiple projects in the Industrial and Energy Technology division. You will support installation and commissioning activities, resolve technical issues on rotating equipment and ensure project milestones are met.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical reference for site teams and customers, managing project scope and resolving technical issues.
• Troubleshoot and support heavy‑duty gas turbines, aeroderivative gas turbines, motor‑driven centrifugal compressors, gearboxes and auxiliary systems.
• Coordinate with customers, vendors and multi‑functional teams to deliver customized evaluations and optimisation studies.
• Manage engineering lessons learned, root‑cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Oversee field engineering modifications, change orders, document management, non‑conformity handling and FMEA execution.
• Lead quality processes, prepare critical site milestones and monitor key performance indicators.
• Travel to site locations as required to collect data and assist with critical issue resolution.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of technical experience with rotating machinery.
• At least 1 year of project engineering/management experience on large projects.
• Familiarity with Baker Hughes or equivalent OEM products such as heavy‑duty or aeroderivative gas turbines and centrifugal compressors.
• Strong English communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to influence, lead small teams and work in a fast‑paced environment.
