Project Assistant – Reintegration Support

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Project Assistant to support the Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration (AVRR) programme in Algeria. Working under the Head of Programmes and the National Project Officer AVRR, you will help returnees develop viable reintegration plans and ensure smooth coordination with partner missions.

Key responsibilities

• Assist returnees in creating and implementing reintegration plans, including shelter, family tracing and cash grant disbursement.
• Liaise with finance and procurement units to manage cash and in‑kind assistance for Algerian returnees.
• Maintain and update the internal database on return assistance, tracking status and ensuring confidentiality.
• Support monitoring missions by arranging logistics and conducting follow‑up calls or visits.
• Prepare documentation and inputs for donor narrative and financial reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in human/social sciences, business or administration, or a high‑school diploma with at least four years of relevant experience.
• Minimum two years of experience in project support, preferably with international organisations or governmental authorities.
• Fluency in English and French; working knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Migrant Management Operational System Application (MIMOSA) and other project databases.
• Experience in financial reporting and cash‑grant disbursement procedures.
• Ability to coordinate logistics and administrative aspects of reintegration projects.
