Airport Services Duty Officer – Algiers (1‑Year Contract)

About the role

Qatar Airways Ground Services is seeking an Airport Services Duty Officer to lead flight‑handling activities at its Algiers base on a one‑year fixed‑term contract. You will act as the on‑site representative of the Airport Services Manager, ensuring safety, punctuality and high‑quality service for all Qatar Airways operations.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise flight‑handling processes including check‑in, transfers, boarding and flight editing.
• Ensure passenger and aircraft handling comply with safety and security standards.
• Maintain QR aircraft handling standards on each shift.
• Manage manpower allocation, optimise utilisation and uphold staff morale and discipline.
• Conduct operational checks to guarantee required service standards.
• Resolve customer complaints in collaboration with Customer Relations and other departments.
• Coordinate ramp handling with GHA, caterers, fueling, maintenance, cargo and crew to expedite departures.

Required profile

• Relevant college or university qualification.
• Minimum 4 years of supervisory experience in airline or reputable ground‑handling operations.
• Excellent communication skills with fluency in English.
• Strong knowledge of weight and balance, ramp handling and dangerous‑goods regulations.
• Ability to perform under pressure while maintaining high customer‑service standards.
• Good understanding of conditions of carriage, international civil aviation safety and security procedures.
• Experience in passenger services, baggage services, ground operations and computer‑based systems.
