Senior Safeguarding Manager – Football Academy

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Safeguarding Manager to lead and embed a safe, inclusive culture across Men’s Football and our Youth Academy sites. Working closely with the Head of Safeguarding, you will help protect children, young people and adults at risk while supporting the club’s broader safeguarding strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the primary safeguarding contact for Men’s Football and the Academy, providing expert advice and guidance.
• Represent safeguarding within the Academy leadership structure and collaborate with the Head of Safeguarding, Academy Director and wellbeing teams.
• Lead investigations into safeguarding concerns, incidents and allegations, coordinating with The FA, Premier League and statutory agencies.
• Deliver training, awareness initiatives and support Academy tours as the safeguarding lead.
• Monitor compliance, assess risks and contribute to the development and review of safeguarding systems.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in safeguarding, child protection or a related field, preferably within sport.
• Proven ability to work at senior level, influencing stakeholders across a large organization.
• Strong understanding of safeguarding legislation, best practices and investigative processes.
• Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive environment for all participants.
