HR Officer - Payroll and Employee Relations

About the role

Salvo Grima Group, a group of companies active in international distribution, wholesale, ship supply and retail in Europe and Africa, is looking for a detail-oriented HR Officer based at Houari Boumediene International Airport in Algiers. The role covers key HR administrative functions such as payroll processing, employee contracts, CNAS relations, induction programs, probation follow-ups and leave management.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and process payroll accurately and in line with Algerian labor regulations, keeping records of salaries, deductions and benefits.
• Handle CNAS registrations, declarations and follow-ups, and ensure timely submission of social security contributions.
• Draft, update and manage employment contracts, and prepare documentation for new hires, renewals and terminations.
• Maintain personnel files and HR records, and manage administrative paperwork including work permits where applicable.
• Organize employee inductions, monitor probation periods and track annual leave, sick leave and other absences.
• Act as the main point of contact for HR administrative queries, assist with employee grievances and support HR audits and reporting.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in a similar HR administrative role.
• Fluency in English, French and Arabic; airport and/or retail experience is appreciated.
• Comfortable working in an airport retail setting selling duty-free goods such as skincare, tobacco and alcohol.

Required skills

• Payroll processing and knowledge of CNAS procedures and Algerian social security regulations.
• Strong understanding of Algerian labor law and contract management.
• Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Good communication, presentation and problem-solving skills, and confidentiality with sensitive employee data.
