KYC Team Leader

About the role

Interpath Advisory, a financial advisory firm offering restructuring, corporate finance, valuation, debt advisory, tax, pensions, forensic accounting and e-discovery services, is expanding its central KYC team in Algeria. It is looking for a KYC Team Leader to support and guide the growing onboarding function. The role suits someone with solid experience in KYC, AML or compliance who wants to move into team leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and support a team of KYC analysts in their daily onboarding tasks, review their work, give constructive feedback and organise workload distribution.
• Act as the first point of escalation for questions, unusual cases or complex risk situations.
• Review and validate KYC files for accuracy, completeness and compliance with internal policies.
• Oversee screening results (PEPs, sanctions, adverse media) and guide the team on handling higher-risk findings.
• Ensure risk ratings, due diligence levels and assessments are applied consistently, and support client, engagement and third-party risk assessments.
• Help the UK-based MLRO team refine onboarding workflows, identify recurring issues and propose solutions.
• Contribute to internal KYC and risk management guidelines and ensure onboarding steps are documented and aligned with global standards.
• Work with client engagement teams so that all risk-related requirements are completed before project launch.

Required profile

• Experience in KYC, AML, CTF, compliance or risk management, ideally at least 5 years.
• Previous mentoring or informal leadership experience is a plus.
• Strong understanding of corporate structures and international onboarding requirements.
• Familiarity with advisory, consulting or transactional environments is an advantage.
• Fluent in English, written and spoken.
