Senior Backend Engineer (Node.js)

About the role

Yassir is expanding its super‑app platform across North Africa and beyond, adding financial services to its ride‑hailing and delivery ecosystem. As a Senior Backend Engineer you will design, build, and maintain high‑performance Node.js micro‑services that power millions of daily transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop robust, scalable backend systems using Node.js, Express.js and Nest.js.
• Design and implement micro‑service architectures, RESTful APIs, and data pipelines.
• Write unit tests, perform code reviews, and improve overall code quality.
• Collaborate with product, design, and DevOps teams to translate user requirements into technical solutions.
• Diagnose and resolve production issues quickly, performing root‑cause analysis.
• Maintain containerised deployments with Docker and Kubernetes, and optimise performance with caching (Redis) and scaling strategies.

Required profile

• BSc/MSc in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of professional experience in backend development.
• Strong problem‑solving mindset, able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent organisational and critical‑thinking abilities.
