Centre Support Consultant

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Centre Support Consultant to assist the Protection Centre in Algiers. Working under the Protection Centre Manager and alongside protection and medical teams, you will help ensure the centre operates safely and efficiently for vulnerable beneficiaries.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and follow‑up with beneficiaries, ensuring their needs are documented.
• Identify and refer protection and medical needs to appropriate services.
• Support AVS‑related activities and facilitate access to relevant services.
• Maintain timely communication while respecting confidentiality and “Do No Harm” principles.
• Assist in daily administrative tasks to keep the centre running smoothly.

Required profile

• Secondary education required; training in social sciences, humanitarian action, healthcare, psychology, social work or related fields is an advantage.
• Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role working with vulnerable populations.
• Experience in reception centres, social or humanitarian protection contexts is a plus.
• Knowledge of migrant protection principles, confidentiality, and handling sensitive situations.
• Strong interpersonal and active‑listening abilities, patience, cultural sensitivity, discretion and ability to work under stress.
