Hotel Cleanliness Supervisor

About the role

The Hotel Cleanliness Supervisor ensures that guest rooms, public areas and facilities meet Marriott’s high standards of cleanliness and presentation. Working closely with housekeeping, engineering, front office and laundry teams, the supervisor coordinates daily cleaning activities and resolves any discrepancies before guests arrive.

Key responsibilities

• Inspect guest rooms, public areas and pool areas after cleaning to verify quality standards.
• Run sold‑room reports, verify room status, identify discrepancies and prioritize cleaning tasks.
• Update the status of departing rooms and communicate changes to the next shift.
• Act as a liaison between Housekeeping, Engineering, Front Office and Laundry to coordinate efforts.
• Document and resolve issues with discrepant rooms in collaboration with the Front Desk.
• Prepare, distribute and communicate room assignment changes.
• Complete required paperwork and maintain accurate records.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling and motivating staff.
• Ensure compliance with safety, security and company policies, reporting hazards or incidents.
• Provide courteous guest service, welcome guests, address service needs and assist guests with disabilities.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant housekeeping or cleaning experience.
• Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 55 lb unassisted and moving carts on uneven surfaces.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments.
• Basic computer proficiency for entering reports and using point‑of‑sale systems.
