Senior QA Functional Engineer

About the role

Ooredoo is reinforcing its IT Quality Management function and is looking for a Senior QA Functional Engineer to lead functional testing activities across enterprise IT systems and applications. The role will define test strategies, coordinate SIT and UAT phases, manage defect lifecycles, support release quality decisions, and mentor junior QA engineers.

Key responsibilities

• Define functional test strategies, master test plans, and entry/exit criteria for assigned projects.
• Analyse business requirements, functional specifications, and user stories.
• Review and approve functional test cases before execution.
• Lead SIT execution and coordinate UAT activities with business stakeholders and product owners.
• Manage the full functional defect lifecycle, including documentation, prioritisation, tracking, resolution follow‑up, and closure.
• Perform root‑cause analysis on critical or recurring defects and provide structured recommendations.
• Validate defect fixes and conduct regression testing to ensure no new defects are introduced.
• Coach and support Functional QA Engineers on test design, defect analysis, and testing tools.
• Produce test execution reports, defect dashboards, and quality‑gate evidence for release approvals.
• Ensure testing activities comply with the QA governance framework.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in software QA, functional testing, or related roles.
• At least 2 years in a senior, lead, or QA referent position.
• Strong experience in SIT, UAT coordination, regression testing, and functional test planning.
• Good understanding of SDLC, Agile/Scrum methodologies, and QA best practices.
• Experience in telecom, banking, large‑scale IT, or complex enterprise environments is a plus.
