Inventory Management SME – Damascus Based

About the role

The Telecom Network Inventory Subject Matter Expert (SME) will be based in Damascus, Syria and will be responsible for governing, maintaining, auditing and optimizing the telecom network inventory across all domains. The role provides trusted inventory data to support planning, engineering, deployment, operations, service fulfillment and regulatory compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain accurate inventory records for fiber, fixed access, mobile, IP/MPLS, transmission and data‑centre networks.
• Manage the full inventory lifecycle: planning, deployment, activation, upgrades, migrations and decommissioning.
• Register and manage network resources such as sites, racks, equipment, cards, ports, cables, fibers, circuits, logical resources and services.
• Keep network topology relationships, resource associations and service‑to‑resource mappings up‑to‑date in inventory systems.
• Represent physical infrastructure including fiber routes, ducts, manholes, chambers and cabinets.
• Coordinate audits, field validation and reconciliation to align physical infrastructure with inventory repositories.
• Reconcile data across inventory systems, GIS platforms, EMS/NMS, network elements and asset repositories.
• Monitor and improve data quality through audits, consistency checks and data cleansing.
• Support automated network discovery and validate discovered data against inventory.
• Provide inventory dashboards, KPI and audit reports for management.

Required profile

• Proven experience in telecom network inventory management.
• Familiarity with multiple telecom technology domains (fiber, mobile, IP/MPLS, transmission, data‑centre).
• Ability to work with cross‑functional teams including planning, engineering, operations, GIS and OSS/BSS.
• Strong analytical skills for data quality monitoring and reconciliation.
• Experience in supporting network expansion, modernization and migration projects.
