Shift Leader - Front Desk

About the role

Le Méridien in Oran is looking for a full-time Shift Leader in its Rooms & Guest Services Operations team. The position is non-management and involves handling guest check-ins, payments and room assignments, as well as supporting staff and guests during the shift.

Key responsibilities

• Help staff expedite problem payments, such as credit card issues, and follow up with guests about their satisfaction with guest-related issues.
• Process all guest check-ins: confirm reservations, assign rooms, issue and activate room keys, and set up accurate accounts (shares, room/tax/incidentals, comps).
• Handle all payment types (room charges, cash, checks, debit, credit) and anticipate sold-out situations by arranging alternative accommodation.
• Block rooms in the computer, note special requests, and coordinate with housekeeping on room readiness.
• Contact the right departments (e.g. bellperson, housekeeping) to resolve guest calls and requests.
• Review shift logs and daily memo books, count the bank at the start and end of the shift, balance and drop receipts per accounting specifications, and report accidents and unsafe conditions.
• Support management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluation, coaching and discipline, and act as the first point of contact for the Open Door Policy.
• Complete safety training, follow company policies, keep proprietary information confidential and meet quality standards.

Required profile

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• At least 1 year of related work experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• EU nationality or a work permit for the Czech Republic is needed.
