Maintenance Operator 1

About the role

The Maintenance Operator 1 is responsible for responding to guest repair requests and ensuring the smooth operation of all hotel facilities. Working with minimal supervision, the role combines preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and hands‑on repairs across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

Key responsibilities

• Attend to guest repair requests promptly and communicate resolutions.
• Perform preventive maintenance, cleaning, lubrication, and visual inspections of tools, equipment, and machines.
• Identify, locate, and operate shut‑off valves; carry necessary equipment such as tools and radios.
• Maintain maintenance inventory, requisition parts and supplies as needed.
• Communicate daily activities and issues to subsequent shifts using approved programs.
• Read and interpret standard blueprints and electrical schematics for plumbing and HVAC systems.
• Execute complex repairs on physical property, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, air‑conditioning, refrigeration, and pool heating equipment.
• Apply Lockout/Tagout procedures before any maintenance work.
• Utilize engineering computer programs for preventive maintenance, energy management, and MEP system troubleshooting.
• Train and mentor junior engineers and perform Engineer on Duty duties, including rounds and readings.

Required profile

• Ability to work independently with little supervision.
• Advanced knowledge of blueprints, electrical schematics, and MEP systems.
• Above‑average engineering operations skills and strong mechanical aptitude.
• Proficiency in at least three of the following: air‑conditioning/refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic controls, carpentry, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, building management.
• Solid understanding of safe hand‑tool and power‑tool usage.
• Commitment to follow all safety, security, and company policies.
